ETagRequired
The element type must be terminated
Notice! This page describes the nature of the error using a hypothetical example and not the erroneous data of the input test file. You should however be able to apply this information to your error case.
General description of the error:
The format of the error message: The element type \"{0}\" must be terminated by the matching end-tag \"</{0}>\".
Error description in schema standard: http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-xml-20040204/#GIMatch
Possible causes for this error:
- The XML file is not well-formed. Tags are not correctly nested or tag is opened and closed with a different tag-name
Example 1
<UltmtDbtr>
<Nm>Name
</UltmtDbtr>
</Nm>
Error message: Fatal Error ETagRequired : The element type "Nm" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".
Meaning of error: Service does not find end-tag for element 'Nm' because there is another element before it.
How to fix: Correct the xml so that tags are properly nested and end-tags match with start-tags
<UltmtDbtr>
<Nm>Name</Nm>
</UltmtDbtr>
Example 2
<UltmtDbtr>
Nm>Name</Nm>
</UltmtDbtr>
Error message: The element type "UltmtDbtr" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</UltmtDbtr>".
Meaning of error: Service does not find correct end-tag for element 'UltmtDbtr' because there is another end tag before before it.
How to fix: Correct the xml so that tags are properly nested and end-tags match with start-tags. In this case the lower than sign is missing from the starting tag of the <Nm> element which causes the string "Nm>Name" to be interpreted as a value for th UltmtDbtr element.
<UltmtDbtr>
<Nm>Name</Nm>
</UltmtDbtr>
